The Cuba Study Group is proud to announce the launch of The Reconciliation Project.

The Reconciliation Project seeks to provide Cubans everywhere with information regarding processes of reconciliation from around the world and to create a safe space of respectful dialogue that helps advance the goal of the reunification of the Cuban nation.

On September 14th, the Cuba Study Group hosted its premier event “Conference on Reconciliation and Change” at Miami-Dade College in Miami. This Conference explored the concept of reconciliation by looking at successful national reconciliation efforts in South Africa and Northern Ireland, and discussed how these lessons may be applied to an eventual reconciliation process among Cubans.  Our speakers included Most Rev. Thomas Wenski, Archbishop of Miami; Father Robert Schreiter, Professor of Theology at the Catholic Theological Union; Ebrahim Rasool, South-African Ambassador to the United States; Pat Doherty M.P., former Vice-President of Sinn Féin; and Roberto Goizueta, Professor of Catholic Theology at Boston College.

Please visit www.cubastudygroup.org/reconciliation for videos and transcripts of their presentations.
